Artists

Okay...hands down, Freddie Mercury is my favourite all-time musical artist.

I'm also quite the fool for a good falsetto, so among my other faves are: Lou Christie, Frank Ifield, Gene Pitney, Frankie Vallie,............

I recall when The Bay City Rollers hit the airwaves.  Somewhere, I managed to find some plaid material and sewed insets into my bell bottoms.  I just thought I was so cool.

Oh yeah...and when Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare" album came out, my sister took a photo of me with my top hat on & black half diamonds painted around my eyes.  I was so sinister looking -- all 80 lbs of me !!

One time, my roommates went home to Malaysia.  I don't recall the details, but they had another girl share the apartment with me during their absence.  She came home one time with a Sheffield cut of Thelma Houston & Pressure Cooker's "I've Got The Music In Me".  WOW !  I think my appreciation for powerful vocals grew from that experience.

I like the music I like, because I like it and it would take a lot to sway my opinion.  You can tell me: that Freddie Mercury is gay; that Phil Spector is suspected of murder; how Rod Stewart got his frog-stuck-in-his-throat voice; that Frank Ifield yodels and yodelling is not cool; etc. etc.  I don't care.  They are great artists and I love their work.
